Dot NAME Domain Names

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level extension is the only one intended for personal sites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level domains remained running.

Through our company, you can grab your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to switch the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no particular stipulations on who can register a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
